Hide... No Seek
[Music: S. Luszpinski | Lyrics: M. Groenen]
It was just me in the shadow of your sadness looking out the window staring in the distance sitting on the windowsill curtains closed [pre-chorus] playing hide… no seek teardrops running down my cheeks I was breaking into tiny crumbles [chorus] All I wanted was you To come home and pick me up And tell me that everything is just fine All I needed was you To care for me instead of me taking care of you Isn’t that how it’s supposed to be? All I remember has fallen into pieces of a puzzle I don’t understand You needed time All by yourself running away from the pain inside off to some distant land I cried myself to sleep So scared, ‘cause you were [pre-chorus] Playing hide.. no seek teardrops running down your cheeks You were breaking into tiny crumbles [chorus] All I wanted was you To come home and pick me up And tell me that everything is just fine All I needed was you To care for me instead of me taking care of you. Isn’t that how it’s supposed to be? [bridge] [pre-chorus] playing hide… no seek teardrops running down our cheeks We were breaking….. I was so young and you should have known that I was waiting for you that I loved you…. I loved you…. I still love you [chorus] But all I wanted was you To come home and pick me up And tell me that everything is just fine All I needed was you To care for me instead of me taking care of you. Isn’t that how it’s supposed to be? |

“The truth is that you must first love yourself before you can love another. This song tells about my life as a little girl. How much I longed for the love I would never get, because the one person that had to give it to me, couldn't even love herself. Instead of being there for one another, it was easier to ran away, for both of us. We both felt neglected and lost. I've Always been scared that she would never return. And the moments I ran away, and I felt like no-one was coming after me, I actually just wanted to be found... and loved."
